    Speaker Bio:

    David has over 25 years Trading Standards Service experience in matters directly and indirectly associated with trade and consumer law, product control and production standards including consumer products, food products, metrology products and controls and many other aspects of trade and industry. David’s specialties include management systems, systems assessment, production control assessment, trading standards compliance, accreditation, standards making, technical advice, technical training, regulatory controls, legal metrology, food safety, consumer products, social accountability.

    David is the chairman of AW/90, the BSI committee responsible for providing the UK input into ISO/TC34 on matters relating to quality systems within the food industry. The committee is active in revision of ISO22000 and other related standards.

    Presentation Synopsis:

    Standards play a vital and often invisible role in supporting economic growth, managing risk, boosting productivity and driving innovation. This talk provides an overview of the Food standards landscape and in particular ISO 22000 (standard on food safety management) which is currently undergoing revision.
